Government fee slabs by district coverage, State variations, professional costs, and total launch budget thinking for security agencies.
Statutory fee logic under the Act
Section 7 contemplates different fees for operating in one district, more than one but up to five districts, and the whole State. Industry references often quote ₹5,000 / ₹10,000 / ₹25,000 as the classic central structure. States may notify different amounts or additional charges.
Known variation culture
Secondary sources frequently cite higher whole-state fees in certain States (for example Karnataka discussions around elevated whole-state fees). Treat every number as verify-before-payment. Payee names on demand drafts and portal codes change; wrong instruments delay files.
What government fees do not include
Training MOU costs, institute training fees for guards, professional documentation charges, travel for verification follow-ups, office setup, uniforms, DSC/portal charges, and labour registrations are separate.
Professional fee ranges (indicative market)
Consultancy packages vary widely by State complexity, multi-district scope, and whether company incorporation is bundled. Request a written scope: documents only vs end-to-end liaison vs multi-state programme.
Budgeting a real launch
Beyond licence fees, plan incorporation, commercial office deposit, MOU, initial guard training pipeline, uniforms, working capital for first payroll cycles, GST, and PF/ESIC readiness. Many agencies fail not at licensing but at cash-flow for compliant deployment.
Renewal fees
Renewal fee rules differ — some States mirror grant fees; others prescribe percentages. Diary renewal early.
